The interview went well and went for nearly 10 minutes. I was able to give our swim-in at Corowa lots of promotion and here are a few things that were talked about:
1. My associations with military vehicles where I talked about growing up in Victoria and attending many functions as a child before moving to Sydney and continuing to be involved and .
2.There was discussion on my father and when he commenced collecting vehicles. I explained how he was a house remover and he still has the original Blitz he started driving at 14 years of age when working for his boss. I also mentioned his RAAF Blitz ambulance and how he had this before he met my mother - This was his first love and my mother was his second love.
3. How I knew about the sale of the vehicles - I mentioned seeing information on a forum posted by Warren Brown. He said "Is that the famous artist." I talked about Warren's longterm interest.
4. He mentioned a number of military vehicle museums over in Perth and across Australia. I gave the Bandiana Army Museum a plug as the best I had seen. I also mentioned John Belfield and his museum. (There was a mention of Australia's Oldest hoon.)
5. He asked if my father owned a tank and I said no but I knew a number of people who owned tanks and this led onto a conversation about Year of the Tracked Vehicle at Corowa and how we had a Russian T34, 2 Stuart Tanks and various other armoured tracked vehicles, some of which were able to drive on the road. He talked about running over cars with a tank so I mentioned Ernie Dingo in Warwaick Lord's tank near Mudgee.
6. I mentioned that the vehicles that are being disposed of will be collectable and it will be interesting to see if they last as long as some of the WW1 and WW2 vehicles we have at Corowa which come from all parts of Australia.
7. I talked about having a number of people from overseas who attend our event at Corowa and people who are interested in collecting military vehicles come from all walks of life.
