Rather interesting! I know that post-war Lincoln Cars Ltd on the Great West Route in Brentford (FMC subsidiary) carried on refurbishing V-8 engines for use in Carriers, etc. The question arises as to whether Dagenham did any more work or, as I suspect, farmed it out to contractors. Later on West Yorkshire Foundries cast engine parts for Ford for obsolete engines still in use. WYF specialised in small or large jobs for the motor industry.

Hello all,
Thanks for the replies. Yes it is a nice item. I guess it was the sort of thing that would grace a manager's desk, or possibly a souvenir for a War Department contract manager. I have no information about its origin sadly. I bought it from another collector and carrier owner some years ago. As David pointed out, there seems to have been some 'legacy' contract work going on. I was just curious as to whether or not this really was the last track manufactured by Ford Dagenham. Regards Paul |
