Thanks Guys, the same fellow has several older unused sandbags..maybe WW2 or post war as they are the right colour...but as some have said..some guys figure that everything is worth hundreds just because it's Military.
I will meet up with this fellow again in early May and see what we can work out..but at this time he thinks the Bell is worth far more than anyone has stated here..I may let these items pass... Too bad as I do not know what else he may have..and he tells me he has more items stashed away. Dean |

Dean,
I have a WWII sandbag in my collection.I can't believe they would stamp every sandbag with a date and maker unless this bag was for some other use?Anybody know if this in fact a sandbag or was it used for maybe bulk food or? Derk.

If your looking for sand bags, I have somewhere between 75 to 100 burlap bags (new). Can't remember the size, nor, am I an expert in anyway shape or form on WW11 sandbags. But as most members will agree, you work with what you have.
I used to have them on the windshield of my jeep, which looked really authentic. My 2 cents.....Robert |

Last year I did a roadtrip to Eccles Hill and stopped at Dunham, Quebec SE of Montreal on the road to Eccles Hill. The local Home Hardware store has a garden centre AND a large surplus store in the back. The area seems to have many working farms and woodlots, where I would expect to find deer and turkey hunters. I was looking for jeep accessories and period appropriate stuff. They had metal jerry cans in the back tin shed, and a lot of pre-modular tent poles and hardware. I recognized some marquis tent poles in the barrels of bits and pieces. A roadtrip is required

...most certainly - I'd be up for a set of marquis poles and ropes ( never enough rope...)
