I knew I had one around here somewhere, and as I was looking through an old bin of gunparts downstairs, there it was. This is the proper lamp for the carriers. It is a combination of the standard truck lamp (the tube, spring and lense) used with a bushing, then the smaller diameter electrical connector as well as a nut and some lock washers.
The bushing almost looks like the type used on conduit. On one of the photos I have gone high tech and drawn the part numbers relevant to each piece from the manual. There is a lock washer on this that is not listed. |

Thanks Rob
So is the light socket part the same on both ends? Also thanks for straigtening out the cover, Those last pictures made much more sense then the first ones to me.

Yes, although it may not look it by my photo. The rubber plug that would have little spring loaded springs is presently pushed too far to the back. When centered it should have a mirror image, just enough to accept the small 6 volt bulb with two contacts. The armoured cable that attaches to it would also have the same two pin contact.
If you look back at that ebay convoy conduit and cable, you will see the two pin plug attached to the same socket (13419 with nut 13423) that I have right now. The only thing that one of ebay needs now is the washer, the adapter, and the remainder of a regular truck lamp. |

Just to complete the system, here's the toggle switch that flips between the red tail lamp and the white disc lamp and its bracket. It mounts on the left side in the spring loop between the rear of the battery box and the license plate panel. You can just make it out in the last pic.

By the way, I have not forgot your request (along with others) for the drawing on the bracket. I have it here on my desk now, but I left my digital calipers in the shop, so will retrieve them tomorrow. After that, the bracket will travel on it's world tour to the UK. |

Here is another view of the switch. I think this is even the same carrier.

Finished making three bellmouth fittings today, there are two of these on a Mk1 carrier, one for finishing the conduit end of to the rear convoy light switch and one for the horn on the front plate. The one in the middle is the original.
Also made a brake rod spring from an original one, made from spring steel. kevin.

Trying to figure out the wiring of the tail light and the convoy light with the rear switch.
I think I got it "right" in my picture I drew up. Any input is much appreciated.

Hi Jordan, Brian Asbury once sold a rear tail light wire (short piece of wire with crimps on) I bought two of these a while back but have not figured out how its supposed to be wired into the circuit, Are you familiar with this wire?, not sure if he still sells them.
A couple of pics of the rear light switch from BP's carrier. If you click on the light switch first pic and zoom in you can see how the switch is supposed to be labelled. kev.
