I'm with you Hanno. The story behind it's survival in Germany could be as interesting as the movie itself.

I was thinking we could make up an elaborate story about how it was being carried in a FGT which was captured by the Germans, with the film being rushed to Hitler's bunker, where once he viewed it he realised for him the war was lost.
