I agree that there are modifications - it has been modified to left hand drive, the interior engine cover is different than any I have seen, perhaps to cover a different engine.
It looks solid, not rotted out like so many I see in Canada and it has the cargo box which so often is disposed of to permit mounting something larger or heavier. Even if you don't want to return it to original configuration there are a lot of useful parts still in place.

Grant, you are right, the interior engine cover is different because it houses other than the 216 engine. According to a local old man, a..."mercedes" ..

I confess you that initially I had no desire to engage in such an adventure to rescue that C15A, but now, I started thinking it again...

@Alex Blair: Thank you Alex for your answer!

There was an article for the CMP below at the "Wheels & Tracks" (issue 65) at the "Discoveries" p.41.
Last week I found the rest set of photos from the spotter.

I have to show you an interesting photo of a provincial bus in Crete, in a photo taken at Aug of 1955. Actually is a modified C60L I believe.

Am I right?

All the cabin work fabricated in a factory here, and I have planned to visit the offices some time.
