do you think they made this type of sprocket to protect the front nuts? Aidan

Lynn, you could be right, they are of the same design as the aust one. I will do some research about them.
Rich!, I don't think I'm ready for another relationship just yet as there's too many good miles left in the one I've got. My wife is part of the ground crew for the f18 hornets here in adelaide so she's very handy when I need hydrolic work done or fix the odd turbine. And she's a great cook!!! And she loves lots of armour around as long as its not on the kitchen table. Thanks for the offer and by the way I do need a 6cyl meadows engine for the vickers if you happened to see one lying around. Regards Colin. |

Blimey Kevin you read my mind. When I took that photo yesterday I got to thinking...That bracket with the three holes must be for something like a mud scraper, and I was just about to post the question. Anyone got pictures or drawings or spare ones. Ron

Talking of sad sprockets, there is nothing sadder than one of mine disintegrating into 5 pieces on removal! On examination the casting had been cracked for years leaving about 1/16th of an inch undamaged. This probably explains why the later sprockets had the additional rib cast into them
Has anyone got a suitable drawing I can use to get some re-manufactured please? Any leads would be gratefully received. regards Paul |
