Sorry if I confused you, my mistake, engine mounted over the generator. I have worked on these when they were in service, mostly the engine side, not the electrical part. The questions on this set have been asked before and I am sure that I had a manual to refer to, but have not found it yet. Definitely a post war trailer although has same features as the WW2 10 cwt lightweight trailer. When this gen set was declared obsolete, some of these trailers were adapted for an Onan 6kva set.

I assume this is what we are talking about.
http://www.mapleleafup.org/forums/sh...ight=generator I had forgotten that these were air cooled. Production of this trailer did start during the war with a different generator, so presumably some could be war-time production with later generators? |

I think the generators were made in 1950's.......and the trailers had postwar army registrations that I recall, starting with the letter "B", so 1950's again. Check out your trailer for any ID plates.

According to the manual there was one contract issued for these trailers during the war and resumably more post-war.
As Richard says check the data plate for information. The generator like on all the survivors is post-war. |
