With the best of intentions I (or rather Service Publications) had hoped to be in attendance. However, I just started a new job and cannot take today and Monday off in order to allow for travel, set-up, post event recuperations, etc...
Good luck. It looks like it will be a great success.

Default Military muster 2010

I know this is Sunday and the show goes on, yesterday we spent the day and returned home last night, arrived 0400 hrs. I have some pictures, for those who did not attend you missed a great show. Excellent job, well done to Mike and the Museum volunteers. The site was excellent, it was very hot 31 degrees and humidity very high, but we were all hidden in the trees. There were some really nice vehicles including a generals 1940 Cadillac staff car.
What really surprised us was the onsite costs which we found really reasonable, the food was great and cheap. 3 beers $12. The downside were the eqpt vendors "we" found very expensive(my opinion).
The afternoon reenactment was very good, the site is very well set up. The vehicles were parked in a nice little wood with excellent access. 31 Svc Bn from Windsor had a nice demo set up with quite a few vehicles and the Reservists were absolutely great people to talk with. Cudos to the OC good group of soldiers for this event.
I do have one question, it seems someone gave my name and phone number to the CBC radio (French) prior to the event and they did a quick radio interview with me about the Muster and collection and restoring MV in general, if anyone in the Windsor area heard it plse tell me how it sounded. The biggest thing is how did they get my name??? I know my wife says I like to talk and I will talk to anyone, is my fame exceeding the boundries of Ottawa or is my ego getting bigger.
Here are a few pictures. Gilles

Default Terrific!!!

What a magnificent event!! Everybody did a splendid job, but special commendation must go to Mike T. He not only was everywhere organizing everything but he never flagged in the heat humidity or potential problems (that he solved before they even started).

Amazing.

2. Jordan shooting film instead of blanks.
3. Comedic moment in the WW2 battle when the medic wore sneakers.
4. Fraternizing with a young WW2 Russian re-enactor.
5. Earliest re-enactor (dating to well before the Romans who where represented at the muster)

Well done to Mike and all others that helped make this a wonderful event. I already can't wait for next year.

Sadly none of my vehicles could make it but thankfully a carrier was found for me to drive. Thanks Bruce. I was also lucky enough to have Bruce's carrier breakdown today. This ment I could jump over to the FOX and sit up in the turret as crew comander. That was simply amazing. When I get a chance I will put up some photos.

Gilles, yes I too found some of the vendors a tad bit $$$, but I did manage to find a couple nice things for decent prices.

Mike, when you get a chance to breath and are ready I have a few suggestions that might make the event even better for next year.

Another fantastic weekend spent wearing BD, and mucking about with vehicles.

Has anybody posted or seen video of the battle scenario for the muster? Any links to photos?
