Default Are these trucks known?

A friend in Melbourne tells me that there are a couple of Blitzs in Elgin Street, Carlton between Rathdowne and Drummond Streets.
I have an idea they may have been mentioned on the forum. Can somebody confirm please?

They belong to Elgin Scrap Metals. I have seen them but they wouldn't let me photograph them (this was some time ago) One of them is a Canadian C15 but it has been re-engined with a Falcon motor. They are quite rough.

Default The link

This is their building. If you walk up the lane you'll see them, assuming they're still there. Odd to think they exist so close to the centre of a large city.

Default CArlton Blitz

Back in 1978.. I had a look at a very tidy pink C15A for sale in Carlton..the seller worked for the Coburg council and it still had their logo on the door ...

It was registered with the 1947 plates still on it ..prefix MG ... he wanted $600 , he took me for a spin around the block in it.. it ran like a swiss watch . It was a cab/chassis . What became of it ?

MIKE
