Hi Tony
When I see the work you have done I realize how much of a work in progress my C60L still is, and how much more I have to do. But instead of waiting until I had a more complete web page on the process of copying, making and installing a reproduction harness. I thought I would post a series of photos and notes about just the routing of the harness. Hope it is of some use. Also maybe it will prompt some comments about what I've done incorrectly or how Fords are different from Chevrolets. So here is the link to my work in progress http://www.canadianmilitarypattern.c...%20Harness.htm Main index/home page for my site is of course http://www.canadianmilitarypattern.com/ Cheers Phil

That speedo cable incident must have scared the life out of you when it happened. Good motivator for me to get it right first time. Will post some more pictures shortly of what I'm up to. Howard has been a titanic help during yesterdays assault on the truck. We have a clutch noise that is very unsettling. It is also not completely disengaging when the clutch pedal is pressed. Anyway just another gremlin to sort out. Again thanks very much for the trouble you went to to follow this up. Hope youve booked your flights to Australia for March.

Lads,
Appealing to your vast wisdom & knowledge again. If the dash is not in the truck (Cab 12 F60L) & therefore the wiring behind it not hooked up. The truck will not start will it??? ![]() ![]()

The engine will run ..no problem..have to wire up the starter solenoid ..and ignition coils and bobs your uncle..The ignition switch is only a make-break circuit devise..a wall switch is a temporary ..make it two..One for the solenoid stater circuit and one for the ignition circuit.. ##1..Hook up wall switches in circuits in series..two switches ..two circuits.. ##2..Hook up batteries.. To Start.. #3..Turn on ignition wall switch.. #4..Turn on wall start switch.. If you have fuel..the engine is timed, the points are set, the plugs are set ,the valves are set..and you poured a 1/4 cup of gas down the carb..she will fire up.... As soon as she fires up..turn off the starter wall switch..(that is why ignition switches are spring loaded..) She should be running..Hop on and take 'er for a spin.. If you stall..repeat the process. To shut 'er down..turn off the ignition wall switch..who the hell told you you need a dash..?? ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() PS..I think Phil has his engine on a test stand running in his shop..a video..Maybe he will jump in here and provide us a video link..and correct any details I forgot to run your engine on wall switches.. AND...if you just have the engine and chassis bolted together you won't even need lights to run 'er at night...Leave the exhaust manifolds off and let the exhaust firing out of the block(FOr Fords),heads for Chevs, light up your path.. They'll see you coming for miles..and they sure as hell will hear you..Perfect!!
