Default 1/35 scale CMP

After all these years there is still not 1/35th Scale Chev or Ford CMP 3 tonner - and yet you can buy endless versions of experimental German WW2 armour and even model the 'Wehrmacht of 1946'

And never likely to be one either Larry as it is NOT a glamour product like a tank is

Default Cmp

If trucks are boring how come the Opel Blitz by Italeri in 1/35 gets to be issued as a 'standard production GS truck', a 'late cab' version, a 'radio body' version and a 'gas generator' kit - and yet they don't seem to have the sense to offer any other CMP version than the age old Chev CMP 15 cwt!

Larry you still don't get it do you........The Opel is cool because it is German and the only 1/35 German truck in plastic!!!!! Allied modellers have a choice....QL bedford, GMC-CCKW in several versions, the 15cwt CMP by Italeri, the LRDG Chev by Tamiya, Russian GAZ etc. Not many modellers want british/Commonwealth trucks as models. You need to sell 10's of 1000's of kits to get your money back and make a profit so most major plastic kit manufacturers will NOT do them as they probably would not sell enough. I predict if a 1941 Ford were to be done in plastic the first version would be the German Opel made one and not the Canadian/US one due to German stuff being cool.

@ Cliff; Opel never built Fords - you mean Ford Koeln in Germany? And btw. since some months there is another truck on the market Zvezda brought a MB 4500 S. That's really something new (although not a CMP)....

Cliff, you are slipping!!!!!

An Opel/Ford only really existed in a couple of the "Standard/Einheits" vehicles.

In any case, and as the Christmas Madness is once again upon my HobbyTown USA store, I have no time for research, but I think I saw a resin or a limited production kit out of Russia/Former Soviet Union of a C60 or similar and after the Madness subsides I will do some research.

Bill
