Just a long shot but does anyone know how to age old number plates, I found this one up the padock while mustering last week. It's amazing how long something can lie around unnoticed. It has been found previously as it has a bullet hole in the middle.

The NSW plate you found dates from 1937 to 51

In 1937, letters in numberplates were first introduced, using a AA-000 to ZZ-999 series. This ran until 1951 with the "NSW" insert on the top of the plate. It is the beginning of Page embossed dies.

It could also be from a motor bike ... throws a spanner into it .
