Keith,

Over here, the common ones fitted when in commercial use, were Ford 4D diesel, Perkins P6 and I knew a chap with a Chev HUP who fitted a Bedford 220 4 cyl diesel.

Also Bedford 28hp petrol engines replaced the Chev 216.

I should have remembered the Bedford. There's one at Yass in a C15.

Default Re engined blitz's

Drove a F60S with a 245 Dodge/Valiant Hemi engine and gearbox , needed the front extending to fit the unit in .
Very nice to drive .

Lot of Chev,s end up with the 53 onward 235 chev engine.

Other than popular types here in Europe like Bedford petrol and Perkins diesel engines (already mentioned), I know of at least two CMPs in Holland re-engined with the GMC 270 engine (as used in the CCKW series of trucks); one HUP and one C60S Wrecker.

Also a few Fords re-engined in France and Belgium with the "French Flathead" (postwar Ford V8) as used in the French SUMB MH600BS 1.5-ton 4x4 truck.
