David,
The book arrived yesterday. Wow, excellent work! Lots of large size, large resolution pictures of interesting vehicles. It will get a nice spot next to the books of Nigel Watson and the publications of Bart VanderVeen! Alex

It is with the deepest regret that I have to inform you that my boss, my friend, my co-author, Alan Earnshaw passed away peacefully last night after a long illness.

May I ask that if anyone wants a copy, please contact the Publishers direct, and not Trans-Pennine Publishing, the editors and where Profesor Earnshaw was based (also a 'book shop'). Regrettably Trans-Pennine have been wound-down as a result of Alan's death. The company's shop in Appleby has also been closed. It has in fact turned out much sadder than anyone had thought possible.

It is with some pleasure that I confirm that VINTAGE ROADSCENE that was fomerly franchised by Trans-Pennine Publishing and edited by Alan Earnshaw, has continued under Ian Allan Publishing. A new Editor has been appointed and it will continue under Ian Allan for the future. Yours truly continues to write for MILITARY SCENE, and back copies containing the entire CMP Story from inception to 1939 are available.
I mention this just to advise that not all was lost when Alan passed-on. http://www.ianallanmagazines.com/vintage/ |
