Phil,

I know what you mean - I always think "Flathead V8" when someone mentions Ford

But, the Ford 2G8T / G8T or "Ford-6" was indeed fitted with a 6 cylinder in-line engine - see http://www.autogallery.org.ru/ford6.htm for details and pictures.
