Just noticed this question. Most of the marching men seem to be wearing Eye-Shields, Anti Gas. The first two have them over their eyes and the others raised on their helmets. They seem to have been fairly commonly used early in the war as dust shields.

Sorry no CMPs in this picture but the best illustration that I could find.

It's a cab 13 and if the Arab standing in front of it is full size it must be bigger than a 15 cwt. It has a radio aerial mounted on the passenger side. Can anybody add any more?

About 30-45 seconds is very good for someone who is not a CMP anorak like Keith

I agree with David, it's a cab 13, probably a 3-ton or Field Artillery Tractor chassis. The cab top has been removed and two small aeroscreens added. I cannot see any clues as to it's role: GS, FAT, it could be anything.

I would hazard a guess this is a Ford, simply because the South African Recce Cars in front of it have a Ford v8 flathead, too.
