I wonder if the glass or metal thing has to do with whether the truck was likely too see combat or not. They didn't seem to want any glass other than the windshield if they could help it and I can't blame them.

It looks like your turrett is a full glass one with the window shroud bolted on the wrong side .Should be on the outside as the paint line suggests Here is a couple of pics of my c60l rear window
