Default S&P at the BBB

Hi Guys:

August will be a crazy month... I have friends from the UK visiting for the first two weeks: they own a bofors and LAAT (Ferd), a 15 cwt (Chiv) and several 90cm searchlights. I will try to get their dates to coincide with BBB.

I have to go back to the Dark Continent in late Aug for a week long recce of southern countries into which we might export our courses. On the way through the UK I will attend an antique railway and military veh event my chum (see para 1) is hosting on the weekend of 22 to 24 Aug.

Add in the price of petrol these days and I'm afarid we won't be able to bring the big convoy we brought last year... perhaps a smaller line up inlcuding the Windsor carrier (arriving next week!) and the CCKW (in the same container!) and at least one thing that goes BOOM!

Mike

First time I have ever heard you complain about a bar.

I am also advised that Gunner also received his St. John Service medal and bar indicating 17 years service to that venerable organization. Methinks that Gunner is going for the US look (no offence to our many Yank friends).

Default Bars and bars

Damn... shudda kept my big OLD mouth shut!

If Her Majesty sees fit to leave me here for BBB I will happily wet the bars at the bar!

Doesn't Joe Drouin (medal mounter extraordinaire) sell some kind of prop with a little wheel on it... to take the weight off'n the left shoulder? If our Forces get any busier we'll all look like banana republic dictators there'll be so much tin on our left chests! Take a look at a Remembrance Day Parade photo from the 70's and compare to today!

Then there was the volunteer in the red t-shirt who wouldn't give serving soldiers a bag lunch at a certain big ceremony involving the opening of a big building full of old military stuff here in Ottawa... he said, with a straight face, to a serving member with eight medals up, "Sorry, bag lunches are only for Veterans!" The gruff reply was, "What do these look like, kid; beer bottle caps?" Needless to say, bag lunches went out to ALL the Veterans.

Mike

Default Don't forget BB 3.....

Just to remind everyone that we will need to know by August 8th who is coming........ needed to know how many cows we need to rustle up and how many rolls of TP to have on hand.....!!!!

Looks like we may have a delegation from the far East coast.... a representative from the good ol' U-Hess of Hay.....

I will be away from the barn from July 24th to Aug 2nd..... for information during my absence contact Grant Bowker..... fellow Rotter par excellence!!!

Rob Clarke should have returned to the Ottawa Valley by August 28th....
