Default legality/insurance w UC on the road

So we're at the point of considering driving our UC and we're concerned about the legality of having it on the road. A friend is a OPP officer and is going to look into the legal end but I'm wondering if anyone here has any knowledge. We're in Ontario Canada. 2nd thing, what about insurance? How are UCs insured? "Our" UC is actually owned by our local Legion so I'm assuming that they'll need to be the policy holder. Any idea on cost for very periodic (parade type) driving? Finally, what's the word on driving them on paved roads. My hunch is that as the tracks aren't really the skid-steer type and relatively smooth they'll be fine but if we can say "oh, *** community allows it" I know our municipality will find it easier to ok us on the road.
