Can't identify this seat and MG Mount

I am having a hard time identifying the type of vehicle on which this seat would be used. It was recovered from a Belgian Museum where it was identified as a "British Machine Gun Seat" (no big help there!).

David Fletcher (Bovington Tank Museum) didn't recognize it as a piece of armor, but suggested that it reminded him of the rotating bucket seat attached to a Motley anti-aircraft machine-gun mounting.

Can anyone identify this piece for me? ANy comments are greatly appreciated.
