Default Morris-Commercial Mystery

I have two photos takNothing humdrum about this one. They are in the batch for Contract V.3957, L 4551434-4551531, except that David Fletcher has looked at the record cards:

"As you can see I have found two cards, one of which includes 293 CDSW but the rest are 4x4 SP Morris Bofors and Predictors or Field Artillery Tractors. On the back of one of them it gives the following breakdown of WD numbers; L4549855 – 4550254 FAT, L4550255 – 4550754 FAT, L4550755 – 4551254 ??? and L4551532 – 4551824 ??? (these last groups are unspecified). You will notice that the sequence you gave me is not there. I suspect either there is another card, which I have not found or maybe on V3965 [V.3965 was canceled and ,merged into 3857] .... This is one of those cases where one needs to cross-reference the cards against other items such as the Chilwell list and the consolidated key list, which can be a very frustrating and time consuming job".

Quite why they are being uncrated in June 1941 I have no idea, since the contract was placed 5th August 1940 and they would have been nearly new..unless they were intended for N Africa and never shipped as CMPs and 6x4 Gantries were sent..unless they were for the Z + 50 plan which was postponed and so were assembled again for UK use?
