Under UK Law a match pair of headlights are only required during the hours of darkness.

The side lights are however a problem because the light emitting lense area does not meet legal standards. Having said that I dont know how much driving you do at night on the road.

It's not safe to drive a Mk2 Carrier on the road without a commander because you have no view left (fold down flap deleted on Mk2). I therefore get the commander to do hand signals standing up if required.
