A Soldier's View by Blake Heathcote has come my way, and it is very nice to have indeed. It has had some good reviews in the national press. I searched MLU and didn't find any earlier references to it, so I thought I'd mention it.
Sutbtitled The Personal Photographs of Canadians at War 1939-45, It is chiefly a photo album, many many of pictures of men and women in service in the Second World War, some fine and grim stuff in there. Some photos may be familiar, most you will likely not have seen before. Lots of tehchical details in the pics, etc, and for the vehicle buffs there are a few shots, one nice one in particular of a HUP being used as an orderly room somewhere in the Netherlands. My editorial nitpickery has to kick in here, as I have spotted a few errors, but nonetheless I would recommend it.
