Default Hi karmen-re poppies

Iwent to the Remembrance concert at St Mary's last night. As I entered the main door there stood a vet with a box of poppies.Immediately made a beeline to his table. The first thing he asks me if I had any relatives from the war. So,as I put my three toneys n the box he says to me "How many do you want"?So,I related that my dad was a D-Day Dodger,my wife Debbie's dad was military policeman at Normandy. He says"Do you have any kids"?Yes,two daughters.Sooo !! this vet hands me a fistful of poppies and tells me to pass them around.Well two daughters went of today to junior college and university, proudly wearing the poppies.During the concert, anyone not wearing one was handed a freebee during intermission.
A great night was had by all except me-not being invited to play with my old band The Air Force Pipes and Drums.Oh well!
