We have all seen it now, Very entertaining.

I wonder if season two will be as full of atrocious over-acting.

David Sterling was the main driver of the concept and SAS may not have come into being without him. Unfortunately he left the scene for Colditz very early. Of course there were many superior SAS leaders involved but Paddy Mayne is the man who developed them to the special status they hold to this day.

Paddy Mayne did enough for 5 military lifetimes and was a lawyer in real life and played rugby for both Ireland and the British Lions, beats me why he is portrayed as some sort of psychopath.

He was awarded DSO and 3 bars while being denied a Victoria Cross in mysterious circumstances even after being personally recommended by Montgomery. To this day there is conflict between "Special Forces" and line regiments. Special Forces are handy and have their place but they don't win battles despite the publicity.

I hope he gets full credit if the second series covers the European period.
