Just checked the details in Bart Vanderveen’s book on Macks:

It’s the military pattern semi-tactical variant of the EH 5-tonner for Defense Aid distribution. 3,450 5-ton trucks with 170-in wheelbase were made in the USA during 1943-1944. 2,400 of these were supplied to Britain under S/M 2428.
Of the 5-ton tractor with 146-in wheelbase only 50 were built. They were delivered in 1943. Some of these were used by the Royal Navy in Australia.

Check the wheelbase so you know if it was a truck or tractor originally.
