My second CGT was not fitted with the winch brake when I bought it, a thing I wanted to rectify last weekend, I thought it to be an easy fix since I had a spare C60L chassis with a complete winch on it.
But I found that the brake band on the CGT sat much further from the cross member than on my other CGT and the C60L, so the actuating lever mount where to short for it to line up with the J bolt that tightens the brake band. Since it lived a hard working life It could have been modified, but I have also found a number of Ford related parts in mine, so was wondering if this as well was a ford thing (cross member) and therefore needing a different actuating lever. I have attached a picture of the brake (the one with a nice green chassis) and two of the winch on my spares chassis and other CGT. Can any one tell me what it is ?
