Had another look at it today, and realised ours has the original strap still on it. Whatever goes into the holder can't be more than 6 inches high in order for the strap to fit.

I tried the box for the director, but it is nowhere close. I tried the box for the fuze setter, and it comes close but no cigar. The case I have here is a Case, no1 HFS, CM1130A. I have to wonder is an earlier version would have been all leather. Thsi one is dated 1958. A leather one might be a fit. Also, in my experience, the British designed brackets are very tight on their contents.

I'll keep trying.
