Default Pith Helmets in Canadian Service

Just noticed on page 16 of Clive Law's new publication "Drive to Victory" that the troops in the GS trucks are all wearing pith helmets. During the inter war years, was the pith helmet a commonly issued item available for all Canadian troops, or was it unique dress for just a handful of regiments? Also curious if it was a Canadian design or a standard British pattern?
