Keiths top picture shows the roof section in the stowage position ..either on or off...
I don't think a permanently welded in plate over the driver would allow an observer to stand like the picture shows..All my Lynx manuals show no plate as you describe..
Maybe a field mod ,but still restrictive to movement..
