The boxes install with the smaller door(flap) to the rear. The opening should be centred aroung the fuel filler cap. A special fuel filler funnel, rectangular in shape, drops in to minimize spillage. Stewart Loy has one, and usue it.

the bracket is - I'm told - part of the radio hold-down.
