Default Concerns.....

I would be concerned that the wheel would not clean out pitted rust.....if some rust remains it can start over again...... using a chemical converter might solve the problems of small rust pits having removed the bulk with the wheel.

Have you considered blasting with dry ice $$$$$.....leaves no residue but would require a professional set up....... it flexible enough to be used for cleaning up soft alloy Porsche engine parts...... and can be cranked up to clean rust to bare steel. They are now starting to sell smaller DIY unit ......
