Default tires

Hello Nelson

The proper tire is the 6:00 x 16 Military tire, which are easy to obtain from MV parts dealers in Canada or the US. Even some larger tire stores can get them. I have also seen some civilain tires mounted on the same rim.

If you are planning on keeping the jeep original then there is no need for fender flares.

If you are planning on modifying it to a swamp buggy or rock climber, i would say that you might be on the wrong web page as generally those of us who own military vehicles on this site keep them as original as possible.

Yes, you can get fender flares and other after market accessories for any of the jeep models.

You would have to see what the rules are in your province. In Ontario the tire must stay covered by the fender or fender flare. It cannot project beyond either.

thanks
Eric
