For the insulated connectors that go hard with time, there is a replacement. Lucas makes an almost identical part, I bought a few hundred a decade or so back from a military surplus store. The parts likely came from Suffield, where the British train here in Canada.

The NSN was 5935-99-805-0001 and the part number was LU/CWB300W25 . Not sure what they were meant for but they will do the job nicely.
