Having spoken to my friend again the problem he had was that he could not slide the British Wheels between the Canadian suspension forks. There was not sufficent clearance on the bearings.
Could these have been Lloyd Wheels if indeed there is a difference. The ones I have obtained are all dated 1943-44 and the part number is the same as Canadian production minus the C on the TL.
