Thanks for your updates. I always read this thread as it is very instructive. Question: did you repair that mangled fender, or did you manage to buy new ones? I am wondering to what extent commercially available fenders and other fittings were used when the CMP was designed & built. I was wondering if for example the single arch steel mudguards sold by Commercial Body Fittings (reportedly, this company comes highly recommended as they have all manner of old style fittings still available) could be made to fit? I guy I used to know who restored a VW Typ 82 Kübelwagen told me he bought new front fenders for it. These were standard over-the-counter fenders which he only had to trim to make them fit. Hanno
