Default Strange bracket and tool with Locker

Hello everyone

While browsing through Nigel Watson's UC vol.2 and the "Factory Photos" CD from service publications I came across a rather strang bracket on a Mk2 Carrier.

Any ideas as to what it is for?

My only thought is that it is what went in the odd corner bracket of the stowage locker on the Mk1. If you look at the second picture you can see the two holes from where that corner bracket had been removed from the locker.

Finally, any ideas as to what the white box in the upper left corner of the locker is?
