Bienvenue ici.

There are several members of this Forum who are quite knowlegeable about the Dieppe Raid.

One of them is Bruce Parker, who might see your post and reply to it. He and his son visited Dieppe beach last year (he brought me a piece of the "chert" stone from the beach). Perhaps you and he can reminisce about areas of common knowledge.

Both he and I served in the Royal Regiment of Canada (not war-time) and are well steeped in the background to the event.


The Royals landed at Puys (Blue Beach) and were decimated. It was perhaps one of the greatest blunders of World War II.

With your reference to collecting stuff about Dieppe, I can only offer quotations from a fairly extensive library. That would depend upon your area of interest.
