			Hi all,

i`ve got a copy of the ford special pattern vehicles manual. i`m going to sell it, but not sure what year it is. I cant find a date on it apart from 18/2/45 written in ink on the inside cover, but i dont think this is the date of the book. It`s the third edition and covers mainly early cab`s- 11- i call them monkey face? but has some of the later cabs in it as well when it gets through to the cab description of the book. Can someone help with a date? out of curiosity, did chev make one of these books too? Thanks, Ian.

Are you guys says that some manuals DO exist with special focus on the cab 11 and 12 contruction, layout, servicing.... major dis-assembly points etc.... ...and if so where do I get myself a copy????? Our local manual guru Alex Blair has nothing like that on hand..... Would be ironic to find the manuals now that I have struggled to fully dissemble my Cab 11 ... but it would sure come in handy when I put back to gether..... although I did take numerous digital pictures. Power train and frame information seems to be readily available but he cab make up is very different. Can anyone help????

I used to answer queries about Canadian Chevy bodies by referring to my '29 to '33 Canadian Parts Book because it listed every item in exploded diagram. There must surely be a PB for the #11 Cab?????

			Hi bob,

i really do not know! some one will, but i dont. i`d assume so, but i am not sure. Wouldnt there be an early maintenance Manual covering 11 pattern cabs? Hanno and Dave, the book on keiths site is the exact same book that i have, but i cannot seem to find a date anywhere, so i think i`ll go with your guess on it dave, 1941. Thats what i originally thought due to the 11 pattern cabs. Thanks guys! and hanno, i could buy a few interesting vehicles for the 2 jeeps but then i wouldnt have the jeeps! and i dont think i could let them go! Aah, the financial frustrations of trying to balance a 20 year olds social life with restoring MV`s! Cheers, Ian.

The book refers to the 13 cab models as "current model" and the book is the third edition, surely there weren't that many changes during the life of the 11/12 cabs? My guess is around Jan '42, when Ford also re-issued the 11/12 cab parts book with the "New" 13 cab.

I have that Ford manual listed as ..... #26: 327 pages NO NUMBER FORD CANADA, ILLUST. ARMY PARTS CATALOGUE 1940-42 FOR CDN. MIL. PATTERN VEHICLES. 8" CWT-4x2, 15CWT-4x2, 15CWT-4x4, 30CWT-4x4, 3-TON4x4, 3-TON-6x4, F.A. TRACTOR 4x4. (Jan. '42) The 11/12 and 13 cab info and detail that I have in any of my manuals is scanty ..to say the least. on Fords or Chevs... I don't know if a strictly cab manual exists...

i must admit, i hadnt read through the book in great detail and so hadnt picked up on the reference to cab 13`s as current models. i`ll settle for late 41/early 42 then. Thanks. I`ve come to the conclusion i wont sell the book anyway, its preety neat and i havent seen one before and mum can only remember a fw over the last 30 years of book trading. i can see now that if i sell it i`ll end up getting a vehicle where i need that exact book, then i`ll spend the rest of my life looking for another copy! Thanks for the help guys, Ian.
