| Bedford MW wireless van

identify My brother found a signals shell body some years ago. I think it belonged to a Bedford MWV, but would like to see this confirmed. The only information I can give at this moment is from its id-plate. "MMB Insulated Signals Shell Body Type E Mark Cont. No. D.O./6/VEH CB 27 (A) Ser. No 4864" http://www.motorpool.org.uk/Vehicles/BedMWV.htm Hopefully someone will be able to tell me if I 'm right. Extra information about is also very welcome. Cheers, Arjan |

good evening Arjan To help with your Bedford body your details are correct, they were in fact transferred from 30cwt MSC models hence the odd rear mudguard spacing. somewhere i have a photo of the 30cwt and will dig it out as soon as time permits it may take a while as it is probably buried with older files in my collection. meanwhile here are illustrations of the 15cwt |

I have a feeling that this MW may have been used by Post Office Telephones, judging by the rego number, which is a London one. The cab was probably built by them in their workshops. Richard |

The body shell, which my brother has, has no odd rear mudguard spacing. I will post some pictures soon. Those will tell more than just an id-plate. Cheers, Arjan |

| pictures I got an reply on another post about this body shell. --- I think there are some numbers missing. The Contract Number 6/VEH/CB 27(A) is common to a large number of postwar vehicle contracts. There are usually 4 numbers between VEH/ and CB27(A) __________________ Clive Elliott --- He was right. I forgot these numbers: 3485. Hopefully somebody can give more information about this body shell. The roof was placed by the former owner. Arjan |
