			Hi all,

in the last 10-12 years I've owned some 4 canadian military motorcycles. 2 were Armstrong MT500 and two (still have one) are KLR250. I've always been curious to know what kind of helmets were issued with the bikes. I've seen white ''open-face'' helmets on some pictures with Armstrong MT500(1986), but wonder if that was still the case with the Kawasaki KLR (1995-2000). Anyone has that info? -Eric

I think it depended on the Province where the bike was based. In Saskatchewan, they used watermelons.

We had CF issued olive drab helmets for the motorcycles when I was with the artillery from 95 until 2003 when I left the service.

C8 maybe? Thanks Ed, that's a great pic all around. DR looks like he is wearing 84 webbing and body armour of some sort too. Maybe a n LBV (load bearing vest). Surprisingly, no leather gauntlets. *Edit - Crew suit too. regards Darrell Last edited by Darrell Zinck; 08-10-16 at 01:23. Reason: Mis-ID'd it.... |
