Hi Matt
I have a Weaver Auto Crane that I got originally from a scrap yard. It was mounted on a 15cwt. body. I figured at the time that it was a civilian add on. There was another 15 cwt. in the same yard with another hand winch wrecker with a different name.
( Woods??) I figured it was also a civilian add on. When I went to Holland the first time I saw Dirk Leegwater's first restoration and it had that same Woods? wrecker. Maybe they were a military add on. Somewhere I have an original Weaver catalogue and it is dated early 30's. It has a real nice photo of the crane. I don't think it would be inappropriate to install one if you want. Dirk's looked good sticking out of the canvas cover.
