I agree Bob. I've done some dumb things in my time and 'There but for the grace of God...' etc- but the buck stops with the nut behind the wheel.

| Problem in parades around here

This thread is a cautionary tail for anyone driving in a parade. The big problem we have with parades around us is that it has become popular to throw candy from the vehicles, which then results in children darting out to grab the candy of the road. Which when you are driving any kind of vehicle with some what limited visibility can be un-nerving. Our Club has ended up choosing not to participate in some parades where this has become particularly problematic. Then you have the adults who decide to cross the street between the vehicle. Guess it just goes to show you have to have your brain fully engaged while driving. Cheers Phil

Phil. Your last sentence hits it on the head (no pun intended). Regardless of where you are driving. You should always be fully aware as you are ultimately the person responsible.

I don't do parades anymore. The uncontrolled kids make for a huge amount of stress. There is no fun in it. Regards Doug
