Seat details for McDells

Hi Greg / Chris,
Here are the pictures you requested. These pictures are all from this forum, but I do not remember from who. So credit, and thanks the various contributors
Can any body help these guys with the details of the measurements for the seat backs in a Mk1 carrier along with the measurements for the positions of the lift the dot fasteners, and maybe where the right ones can be bought.
Info here will help a lot of us.

Mac's ford parts sales in the US sell lift the dot fasteners, so do Spaenaur in Canada, so they have to be reasonably available.

Ive got an original seat back about 3 feet from where I am sitting. When I find the tape measure I will measure it up for you guys.

Here are some pictures for you.

The seat is 14 1/2" wide by 25 1/2" tall.

The spacing for the top and bottom Dot fastners is L-R 1 1/4", 5 1/4", 9 1/4" and 13 1/4"

The sides T-B are 5 3/4, 10", 15" 1/4", 20 5/8"

The identation from the sides of the wood is done by lining up the outer edge of the actual fastner on the cushion with the edge of the wood. The pictuers show this better then I can explain.

The plywood is 5 layer and 3/8" thick. The corners are slightly rounded and not a sharp square. The last 3 pics are ones I have on file from the internet, they show the part number painted on and also stamped into the wood along with an intact original seat cushion.

I will get the measurments of the back brackets and placements tomorrow. John Bizal at Midwest Military makes the lower "hook" brackets. If your making 2 seat backs then you'd need 4 of them.

Thank you, thats great!...but now I have more questions - open to anyone who knows.
Is Jordan's seat back (the plywood and brackets) from a Mk2 carrier?
Are the Mk1 top and bottom brackets both the same? (flat bar with a round rod at each end) both top and bottom on the seat back?
My observation is that the same brackets are used top and bottom on the hull of a Mk1 carrier, so that there are eight brackets, all the same, to mount the two seat backs onto the front of the hull division plate.
I await any comments.

Just did a quick search of my photo files and found the following.

It looks like two different types of upper brackets were used. The short kind with one notch is C01UC 105802/105803.These have a qty of 2 each. The longer kind like on my Carrier are TL5061/5062 have a qty of 4 each. However it says that when stock is depleted to use the C01UC 105802/105803

So I would guess that sometime in 1942 they switched over to the short kind at the top and used the rod to push out the back of the seat.

My carrier when i first got it had the long kind TL 5061/6062 for both top and bottom at the drivers seat. Not knowing what my hull number was but knowing it is within the same 100qty of the AntiTank carrier contract I would think the change over happend around then. The first picture posted is from a carrier near me that is part of the same contract but has had none of the coversion over to AT done and it has the short clips and the rod

Hi, I had a set of seat frames made up from a couple of originals, they have two lift the dot clips on the front, the cushions i dont believe are carrier cusions as they have springs in them but fit quite well.

I need to know what are the correct cushions, size, shape dimensions etc.

I have an original rear seat canvas back and have located some leather/viynal green material very similar to the original colour. So just need to make the cushions and backs as featured in this thread.
