Bob,

Please carve off three good-sized slabs of beef for the Clan Clarke.

Gunner,

We need to know your optimistic, most likely and pessimistic estimates of who is coming from the S&P Museum (use the following formula: (O +4*L +P)/6, where O = Optimistic, L = Likely, and P = Pessimistic.

Udders,

Indicate your steak requirements - if you have not already done so.

The outline plan for the BBQ:

Friday afternoon - set up of camp site and bon fire/arrival of participants - snacks will be available at cost (BYOB and BYOF) - primitive camping will be available
Saturday AM – Breakie at Chez Maries (at your cost), pick up empties, barn tour, test run of barn vehicles, project reviews, set up of parts sales stands (no charge!)
Saturday PM – Lunch at Chez Maries (at your cost) more barn stuff, dinner/BBQ, tres bon fire, outrageous story telling, fireworks (BYOF) beer, loud jokes, and synchronized snoring.
Sunday – Breakie at Chez Marie, traditional dog search and PUFO!

Water and pop will be available for sale at a buck a crack – to help cover some of Bob’s out of pocket expenses. A few Rotters hats will be available (for auction??). If you wish to contribute door prizes (and we will accept CMP doors), then we will be very grateful.

More info to follow!

Geoff, I am sure Mike will have an ample supply of gas...for the carrier, that is...For the record, I don't need drugs, I am high on life (although the altitude varies with beer consumed).

See y'all there!

Bob has been seen recently in his natural habitat, his barn, following his vacation. He has had to go back to work today in order to rest and recover following the vacation.

I'm sure Bob would like to hear soon from anyone who is planning to attend the BBB (who hasn't already spoken up) so that he can plan for food etc. I think he is planning to have a little spare food for those who suddenly find themselves free to attend, but please don't all count on this to be sure you have something to eat. I don't want to see the spectacle of 15 starving souls fighting over the last steak..... on second thought I haven't seen a good dog pack fight lately.

Default Quick up date......

I understand that Don Dingwall will be coming...... and he may have to fight to keep his steak loving son home.....( I will saved a big one for him).....

Phil Waterman from New Hamshire is coming..... so if Frank Moore so we can talk about boats and ships and them rubber things.... oh yeah dinghies.....

I spent over two hours Tuesday evening mowing half the back field and would like to make the following abservations/comments.....

Grant..... next time youoffer to give me a hand fitting the bush hog on the tractor before youleave please be nmore insistant..... I busted a gut doingit alone......

Grant..... when I put the bush hog away for the year... remind me to grease the spline haft on the PTO shaft so it will not rust solid over the Winter...

Rob..... you remember the Re-bar anchors we had to keep the Winter garage in place in the back field...... and how they were frozen into the ground when we relocated the shelter frame to cover Ted's truck late last Fall.......

.... well I found at least two of them when running the bush hog..... one was last seen wizzing fast for the forest and is now 3 inches deep into a maple tree...... the second one I hit with more "aplomb" and is now in orbit due for re-entry late September....

I understand CSA is trying to contact me.....

Will do and post a last minute head count Friday...... late comers are still welcome and I probaly can adjust the meat accordingly up tp next wednesday.

Really looking forward to seeing you all...... even if it has to be through a beer haze......

Default Directions...

I pinched the following off the BB2 page, but I wonder if one of you gentlemen couldn't be a bit more specific regards coming from the GTA? Perhaps a Googlemaps link as well, complete with address?

From Exit 96 (Carlsbad Springs) proceed North to intersection of road 26. Turn right (East) on 26 and drive to the village of Cheney. As you approach Cheney, you will see a government surplus outlet on the left side of the road. Continue East at a reduced speed and look for an intersection (Drouin Road) located between a corner store/gas station and a restaurant (Chez Marie). Turn left (North) on Drouin and follow the route markers.

From Exit 88 (Vars) proceed North on 33 to intersection of road 26. Yes, you are close, only a bit NE of Bob's house. There are only two problems:
1. I doubt you'll get here in time for the weekend
2. if you can find us, we will probably be overrun by Torontonians.
Such is life.

Bob and Grant,

If recent history tells us anything, keep the Torontonians away from the BBQs! See: http://canadianpress.google.com/arti...iXXm8NH_LabbVA - note stuffed monkey in the hands of what passes for a burly he-man in TO...

Default S&P at the BBB

Hi Guys!

Back to work after five glorious weeks of leave... most of it spent doing projects for family members and not getting many of my own done!

The S&P will bring the CCKW towing the 6 pounder and the M135 towing the float trailer with the Windsor on board. The M38A1 may come along as well.

The leave was LWOP ("... without pay) so my coffers are completely empty after funding the airshow participation and getting the container from the UK to Ottawa (always double your cost estimates as the delays imposed at many points ended up killing me! ). Your kind offers to fund the fuel costs are much appreciated and most welcome. Even powder for the blanks has gone up 42% since last year and it don't got no petroleum in it!

There will be, as noted by RHC, me and two or three others. Graeme just informed me that he has to work Sat so he might drop by in the evening for the BBQ but he said don't count on him.

We will dep the S&P late AM on Sat and expect to land in Cheney about 1430... 1500 ish! We will dep after the traditional dog search caused by the firing of the reveille round in the morning!

See you there!

Ubique! Mike

Grant, I think that his herd of cats caused the shorts that killed the computers. With 12 cats rubbing their static charged fur against the cabinets the computers are doomed!

So why does Bob have so many cats? He refuses to turn up the heat in winter time and the cats act as mobile heaters...thereby allowing him to spend more of his income on CMPs, computers and BBQs!

Two more wakies!

Default The real reason....... for 12 kats!!!

....... with all the little furry creatures running around and Ottawa's cold Winters I had to built....... a cat house......

So now I can brag about going to the cat house.... in fact having my own cat house........

....... computers are known to be linked symbiotically..... even in awireless set up.......viruses canbe air born..... or hair born!!!!

How else can you explain why two seperate computers crash within a few days of each other....... one the screen died.... the other the video card died...... funeral plans will be annouced at a later date...

See you soon!!!

Default Cats and Computers

Speaking of cats and computers my problem is either they are sleeping on the monitor or walking on keyboard.

But thinking of your problem have you check the cooling fan on your computers for hairballs?

Cheers

See you tomorrow

Sshhhhhh..... don't ask him or he won't let you near them, an' then you won't be able to pinch one as per our devious plan .....

Ahem.... er, Ladies & Gentlemen of the Eastern Canadian & U.S. ilk - we're almost at the starting post, and if you have nothing else planned for the weekend* I would urge you to consider making the jaunt to Hammond for what promises to be a great weekend! Amongst other things and aside from the great comraderie (as always), you will see the only running Windsor Carrier in North America as well as have a chance to be a running target for the 6 pdr!! Think of what we could tell your children & grandchildren in your absence!!

Seriously folks, this has become a great summer tradition in the Greater Ottawa Area and it's worth the effort getting there! We hope to see you...

*OK, stupid parody of what actor playing what role in what movie? Ten points to the first to guess...
