It was actually 1942
Just compared some images from the AWM.
That interesting looking heavy armoured car following the Rovers is our Rhino which was built on the same chassis as the Canadian Fox. The parade was in support of the Austerity War Loan and many photographs were taken. It was held on Armistice day, 1942 - 11th November. The AWM database is down as I write, but have a look at neg 027473 and 027469 for a couple of pictures taken at the top of Bourke Street. The former one shows the Rhino well.
