Default Gunners slot cover

The FUC-03 illustrated parts catalog lists the cover as CTL 947 SA
for the carrier C31 UCW Welsh guards.
But it should fit any MK I or MK II??

Ah I realize what it is now. CTL 947 SA gunners slot cover plate. I have one, so no arm wrestling for it Mark. Mine is 3/8" (nearly 10mm) thick. Ron

Default purpose of rivets?

The cover Roy shows has 6 rivets that project through the plate to form 6 stubby pins (just like my cover). What purpose do they serve - they don't seem to help position the cross-bar. The cover Ron shows does not have these pins. My original has no part numbers, unusual for a Carrier part. ...... Brian
