Mystery tool.....or not.
Hi
While doing some cleaning of the TQMS holdings, a soldier found a tool :  Illegible marking on the top:  No one knows what it is. We assume weakly that perhaps it's an AFV tool of some sort only because it was in the Armour School lines. Any thoughts?  regards Darrell

The first rusty line says "wear safety glasses"...
 A track pin punch of some sort?

Hi Chris
Thanks for confirming that. It does look like a track pin tool of some sort. With regard to the stamping,I thought that was what I was seeing in the first line too but figured if it was a 50s-60s tool, why would there be a warning like that on it!!!  I know it's not from the Leo, so perhaps the Centurion? Older? Anyone else recognize it? Thanks. regards Darrell

Darrell, here is what I am thinking;
track pin punch for something large like a Centurion. Would it make sense to you that the punch has a wooden handle to keep fingers and hands out of the way while the other end is being struck with a sledgehammer??? -Chris

Yes, it would seem that ALex has hit upon the answer. Thank you. No luck matching it up with the Centurion Tool layout photo I have. I suppose it could be for Bailey Bridge gear but am unsure. I may have to borrow it back from Jason to run over to the CFSME Museum. Many thanks to all. regards Darrell
