Default Wanted T16 Hull Drain plugs

Can anyone please help me with some screw in plugs for the bottom of the T16 hull. They are 2 5/8 - 20 NF thread and have a recess in the front with a T bar across it to grab hold of to crew in and out. I am in need of about 6 of these . There must be a load of them somewhere!

Also, interested in any other T16 parts especially NOS. thx in advance Andrew.honychurch@btinternet.com

Thanks Kevin. I had seen these a long while ago and forgotten about them. As you will appreciate they are not correct in that they are hexagonal, but if I cannot find any of the originals its a good plan. I have sent off an e mail to find out more. cheers Andrew

Andrew already knew about the ersatz hull plugs on my site. Ray, another T-16 owner here in the USA made them for my vehicle. They are functional but not visually correct. I only have them in locations that are completely under the vehicle so they aren't easy to see even if you try.

The original hull plugs were a Ford part designed for their Deerhound armoured car which wasn't adopted for government contract production. There must be spare plugs out there somewhere but so far they haven't turned up in bulk.

I'm also interested in finding decent condition originals so consider me second in line behind Andrew if any turn up

thanks for the information David. They will suit me perfectly as an interim measure . I just want to avoid any mud and rubbish getting thrown up inside the vehicle after I have painted it.

I followed this up with Ray who could manufacture me some plugs but to be honest, as he is in the US, it would be as well to make them up here in the UK. I remain pretty hopeful of trying to find some originals though. Please have a think if you know of any, it will finish off the restoration just right. thx
